Every scale up has to make tough decisions about where to invest your budgets, especially in today's cash-tight markets. Based on your war chest size, current ARR, and where your paying customers come from, outbound vs inbound, you'll have to decide whether to allocate funds to marketing or sales.

Some eg from what I am seeing with portcos/clients:
- If you're a new category SAAS, investing in awareness is crucial. Allocate a budget for (4).
- If most of your prospects come through inbound WOM, invest more in that area and worry less about outbound conversions.
- If your sales cycle is too long for your ICP, consider spending more time on marketing to educate your prospects for (3), so they are primed before they talk to your sales team.
